The State Councilor of the State Council of China Wang Yong is making an official visit to Malaysia from August 8-10.
This would be his second visit to Malaysia.
Malaysia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry in a statement said Wang Yong will be attending the ground-breaking ceremony of the East Coast Rail Line (ECRL) project, which will take place in Kuantan, Pahang on August 9 as the special representative of President Xi Jinping.
During the visit, Wang Yong is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Razak, which is expected to discuss matters relating to Malaysia-China bilateral cooperation as well as on the Chinese investments and projects in Malaysia.
The State Councilor will also make a site visit to Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP). This visit reflects the close relations that both countries enjoy and the desire to further strengthen these relations.
Wang Yong is one of five State Councilors who are at the highest level of state administration. He is also the head of the state-owned assets supervision and administration commission since 2010.
