The future of aviation in Southeast Asia

Air travel across Southeast Asia is growing by around 10 percent a year, with Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and the Philippines all experiencing double-digit expansion rates according to research firm Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA).This is due to rising consumer affluence thanks to a growing middle class in the region as well as continuous efforts to liberalise air traffic regulations.

The future of aviation in Southeast Asia

Air travel across Southeast Asia is expected to rise at an estimated compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.8 percent from 2016 to 2036. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) puts the projected number of passengers travelling in 2036 at 7.8 billion people.
