Southeast Asia has been at war with human traffickers for a long time now and most reports have shown that this war is a difficult one to win. In 2015, mass graves of people believed to be Rohingya who were victims of human trafficking were discovered in the jungles north of Wang Kelian in an area called Wang Berma.
The discovery of 28 abandoned human-trafficking camps and multiple unmarked mass graves in the dense jungle of Wang Kelian near the Thai-Malaysia border in May 2015 sent a shock wave through ASEAN and the rest of the world. Almost 800 victims were suspected to have been held in squalid conditions, in crudely built wooden cages and barbed wire that were too small for adults to even stand in.

Reports stated that as many as 139 graves and 29 illegal detention camps were discovered during operations carried out by the Malaysian police.
